![]() ![]() ![]() I adore that there is no end in sight to where your own imagination can take you and that between the pages of a book you are transported to another world. Let’s put it this way J.K Rowling has a lot to answer for. I’m part of the Harry Potter generation and while waiting between books would literally devour any book I could get my hands on. Always armed with a notepad and pen in the black hole I call a handbag, I have been writing never ending stories since the age of 11 and this all stemmed from my love of reading. ![]() By day I work in a UK company’s finance department and by night I become my alter ego Scribble Girl or as my good friends have affectionately dubbed me the 'sex author'. When I realised that the world was not hiring for a ‘sarcastic but benign Supreme Ruler of the Universe’ I’ve decided to focus on my passion. ![]() ![]() ![]() I thought this world was littered with rings and emeralds? How are they in such short supply now? Well, at least we got an explanation for why Knuckles is back. Where the hell did Knuckles come from?!?! Well, he's being nice or something. Pretty sure we don't get much of that until at least past issue issue 150 though. the series hasn't dealt much with Mobians who side with Robotnik, and that's a really interesting plot. Something something chaos emeralds and power rings might save him. Sonic and Knuckles are fighting again because that's what they do. It comes after Sonic Quest so I don't really have any idea what's going on as I haven't gotten a copy of Sonic Quest yet. ![]() Issue 42 does pick up the King plot again. ![]() The zone did things to the King, and it is collapsing, except for not, and where did his memory go? I'd be okay with these mysteries if I knew that they would eventually make sense in less than dozens of issues. ![]() We get a lot of trippy time is weird and in flux things going on, but the underlying premise MAKES NO SENSE. Sonic, Sally, and the goddamn Skunk head back into the Zone of Silence to get the king. 20 pages to have things make sense? This set up is not condusive to all the mysteries that Penders and Co are setting up. The early issues of Sonic suffer greatly from one shot-itis. Okay, adult Maggie is starting to see how even the issues I enjoyed way back when are. ![]() ![]() ![]() Her last request was for Jean to visit before she died. Manon returned to her home in Provence (and her husband-it was complicated) to succumb to the cancer she had been hiding. ![]() The two fall into kissing, and Jean, buoyed by Catherine, finally reads Manon's letter, but the truth is heartbreaking. In the table Catherine finds Manon's unopened letter and demands Jean read it, or she will. When heartbroken Catherine moves into his building, Jean brings her an old table and a stack of books to cure her crying. He can diagnose a shopper's ills (ennui, disappointment, a range of fears) and select the correct literary remedy. Ever since, Jean has devoted his life to his floating bookstore, the Literary Apothecary, a barge docked on the Seine. Twenty-one years ago, his lover, Manon, left, leaving behind only a letter to explain herself-which Jean never opened. Parisian bookseller Jean Perdu has lived in a time capsule of his own grief.
